Ramp Supervisor JFK Job at Cargo Force

Job Description:

  • Cultivate and manage a team for our ramp cargo handling accounts.
  • Monitor the ramp operation to meet account service standards.
  • Work on all levels of the ramp operation.
  • Supervise and assist with the day-to-day activities on the ramp.
  • Ability and knowledge to operate towing tractors.
  • Connect and operate ground support equipment.
  • Ensure ramp equipment is working properly and safely.
  • Assist and supervise loading and unloading of cargo onto/off of the aircraft.
  • Check and ensure compliance of inbound and outbound documentation.
  • Oversee the operation of dangerous goods and overall safety on the ramp.
  • Liaison between client and AGI operations personnel.
  • Staff scheduling (as needed).
  • Train employees.
  • Monitor team members performance and discipline as needed.
  • Ensure all ramp equipment is working properly prior to the arrival of aircraft.
  • Marshalling of aircraft and ground equipment.
  • Ensure FOD (Foreign Object Debris) removal from the ramp.

International Mail Handling

  • Based on contracts, oversee the offload and transport of mail from the facility to the JFK USPO.
  • As necessary, oversee the processing of mail as required at the post office.

This is a full-time position but is on call and requires a flexible schedule.
Required to report for work one hour before aircraft is scheduled to arrive, or as needed.
Responsibilities are not limited to the above job description.
Report to, and assist, the Ramp Manager as needed.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to routinely kneel, crawl, climb, bend; as well as being able to push, pull and lift 70 lbs. This is required to perform the essential functions of the job. Must also be able to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment ranges from loud to moderately noisy as required by the essential functions of the job. All work is performed outdoors on the ramp, including during inclement weather.
