Receiving Inspector Job at Motive Companies

Seeking a Receiving Inspector who is available to work 2nd shift for a small satellite launch program in Long Beach, CA. The candidate in this role will act as the first line of defense for production, preventing non-conforming hardware from hitting the inventory shelves. This position is for someone who is detail oriented and has excellent people skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform dimensional, visual and paperwork inspections to evaluate the adherence of products to design and process specification requirements
  • Communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with engineering, management and production personnel to convey product acceptance criteria and inspection results
  • Generate inspection reports and non-conformance reports as required
  • Help manage MRB location, by ensuring discrepant hardware is segregated and released abiding by Quality Management System
  • Assist other areas as needed, including machine shop, and tooling inspection
  • Perform other duties assigned.



Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of experience working in an aerospace manufacturing environment or equivalent field
  • Highly familiar with reviewing material, purchase orders, process and test certifications
  • Proficiency with GD&T(ASME Y14.5) and surface plate inspection methods
  • Proficiency with running CMM
  • Proficiency with P/CMM (FAROarm or ROMERarm)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and/or other relevant aerospace industry standards
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Basic math and technical writing skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of company personnel
  • Specific vision abilities (corrected or uncorrected) required for this job can include color perception, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
  • Driven, highly motivated, and committed to improvement
  • Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime as well as weekends when needed
  • Self-driven, highly motivated, and committed to improvement, inter-team communication skills, and attention to detail

Valued Skills:
  • NDT familiarity/experience (X-ray, dye pen, ultrasonics, etc.)
  • Familiarity with scanning using PC-DMIS or Polyworks

Requirements:

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Hourly pay range: $30.00 - 35.00
