GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

Under general supervision, the Recreation Supervisor manages the operation of the Splash Pad and Climbing Wall at Lynches River County Park. Responsibilities include cash handling, customer service, staff supervision and scheduling, cleaning, rule enforcement, resolving problems and complaints, and overall facility and guest safety to ensure a safe, but enjoyable visitor experience during public hours, private rentals and special events. Reports to Park Superintendent.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Oversees daily operations of the Splash Pad and Climbing Wall complex; supervises staff; develops, implements, and monitors staff schedules, assigns daily duties, communicates job expectations, and enforces staff policies and procedures.

Ensures proper operation of cash register; performs basic arithmetic in collecting fees, making change, and reconciling funds; completes all related documentation; secures funds.

Maintains a working knowledge of departmental safety procedures; responds quickly and appropriately to incidents and/or accidents, and declarations of inclement weather; completes all documents and reports as required.

Acquire basic knowledge of mechanical systems of the Splash Pad facility as well as regulatory requirements for the Climbing Wall, and demonstrate ability to react, as necessary, to changing conditions.

Assists with daily monitoring of facility equipment and chemical testing; maintains accurate and timely records.

Communicates regularly with Splash Pad Attendants, Climbing Wall Attendants, Park Rangers, Park Superintendent, and other Parks and Recreation staff to ensure both the Splash Pad and Climbing Wall operate smoothly and efficiently.

Maintains a general knowledge of Lynches River County Park operations, policies, and amenities; disseminates information to park visitors on park facilities, and local areas of interest.

Projects a positive public relations image to staff and guests at all times.

Ensures that custodial and housekeeping activities are performed effectively to ensure the attractiveness, cleanliness and safety of the Splash Pad and Climbing Wall complex and surrounding areas.

Works to maintain an efficient and cooperative atmosphere among staff members.

Evening, weekday and weekend work is required; ability to work long hours during extended service times as needed.

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Position requires standing, bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting medium to heavy objects; exposure to cleaning agents.

Must be able to withstand extreme heat, weather, and humidity.

Readily complies with departmental and County-wide policies and procedures.

Performs all related duties as required.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must possess, or be able to pass, First Aid and CPR certification before starting work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.50 - $16.14 per hour
