You will provide direct and functional supervision of ESD staff to achieve integrated services at WorkSource Pierce in Tacoma. You will directly supervise team members that provide WorkSource services as well as provide functional support to other operations as needed. You will ensure compliance with program requirements and oversee operational planning to meet or exceed performance targets. You will create an engaging environment for staff based on principles of Lean, Human Centered Design, and Integrated Services Delivery (ISD) and foster continuous quality improvement that results in high quality services, efficient service delivery, and superior customer satisfaction.

As a WorkSource Supervisor you will interpret and implement WorkSource contracts according to applicable federal and state laws, regulations, policies and/or program and service delivery changes. You will inform staff of agency changes and adjustments, ensure policies and procedures are understood and followed, and design and deliver related training.
What a typical day looks like:
- Develop and support high-performance, integrated work-team management approaches, consensus-based decision making and continuous quality improvement practices.
- Generate measurable performance expectations, conduct audits/evaluations and provide ongoing feedback, initiate continuous quality improvement practices through coaching/mentoring actions.
- Manage and document staff performance, apply corrective actions as required.
- Complete position-specific descriptions, lead and/or participate in hiring processes, recruit and interview candidates for positions, make hiring recommendations to hiring authority.
- Manage and monitor established performance measures, review and reconcile performance reports from different data bases and sources, analyze regulatory standards and achieved outcomes for compliance and accountability.
- Present performance information, identify best practices and/or strategies for improvements and training; recommend and initiate improvements.
- Participate in all WorkSource activities, maintain a high level of communication with customers, area directors, administrators, staff, and partnering agencies regarding program directives, training information, workshops, and related coordination.
- Meet regularly with partner agencies to promote integration and ensure high-quality customer service to co-enrolled customers; work with area teams to establish or modify processes or procedures and resolve problems.
Required:
A combination of education and/or relevant experience* totaling no less than nine (9) years in workforce development, social or human resource services, public relations, or public contact work, such as: unemployment insurance, social services, human resource services, education, public relations, benefits programs, insurance claims, law enforcement and banking, which includes one year experience as a designated lead worker.
OR: One (1) year experience as a WorkSource Specialist 5 or equivalent class within the Employment Security Department, or another state's Employment Security agency.
OR: Two (2) years of experience as a WorkSource Specialist 4 or equivalent class within the Employment Security Department, or another state's Employment Security agency, and one year experience as a designated lead worker.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of working with veterans with significant barriers to employment.
- Knowledge of working with persons participating in social service programs.
- Knowledge of working with persons touched by the criminal justice system.
- Familiarity with complex case management.
Additional Requirements of Employment:
- This position is based in a WorkSource location offers a minimum of two telework days a week, with the remainder of the week in-person at the WorkSource Pierce Center (2121 S State St #300, Tacoma, WA 98405)
- One (1) year experience as a designated lead.
- Must be able to pass an Unemployment Insurance (UI) Claim & Benefit Information Review.
