SUMMARY

Standex is a diversified global manufacturing company operating in five segments which consist of Engraving, Engineering Technologies, Electronics, Scientific Solutions, and Specialty Solutions. The position is based outside of Charleston in Summerville, South Carolina, at the Scientific Solutions division location, Horizon Scientific. Standex International Corporation is based out of Salem, NH (NYSE: SXI).

Horizon Scientific is a fast-growing manufacturer and distributor of medical and laboratory equipment with specific focus on Research and Clinical Life Science Labs within the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Hospital and University Markets. Horizon Scientific’s 100,000 sq. Ft. facility includes sheet metal fabrication, an automated powder coat paint booth, environmental temperature testing rooms, temperature testing, mapping and data logging stations.

Summary:

Due to an ever-increasing number of new products and markets, Horizon is expanding its sales team and seeks a dynamic individual to play a vital role in its sales and marketing efforts. Responsibilities will include account management, training, and support of distributors and regional customers. Interacting with customers, distributor product & sales managers as well as sales representatives to promote products and implement product training will require excellent organizational, presentation, and communication skills. This position requires a 4-year degree and a minimum of three years of sales experience. Majority of time will be spent at Summerville offices, but some travel (20% - 25%) throughout the US will be required. This position will report directly to the National Sales Manager.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

· Build and maintain strong relationships with regional customers to maximize market share with Horizon’s product portfolio

· Develop sales and marketing action plans for assigned accounts

· Complete quarterly key account business reviews, constantly identifying new opportunities for growth.

· Develop presentation materials and perform training to sales representatives

· Consistently identify new sales opportunities and effectively manage sales funnel with existing and prospective accounts.

· Follow up on inbound sales leads

· Identify new product and market opportunities, and present recommendations to leadership.

· Conduct market research to identify industry trends and monitor competitive landscape.

· Jointly coordinate customer visits with sales representatives

· Represent company and products at exhibitions and customer national sales meetings.

· Prepare competitive product comparisons.

· Assist customers with technical product questions.

· Work closely with customer service, technical service, engineering, marketing, production, shipping, and accounting to effectively meet customer needs and to promptly solve any problems that arise.

· Assist with special projects as needed

· Submit timely reports with account updates, sales opportunities, and project status.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

· Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year university

· Minimum 3 years’ experience with proven track record in a related role

· Experience with account management, sales support, or a related customer-facing role required.

· Knowledge of working with distributors and independent sales representatives preferred.

· Knowledge of healthcare and/or laboratory research industries preferred

· Must have strong presentation and demonstration skills, and represent the company in a profession manner

· Ability to communicate with executives, sales managers, and field sales personnel confidently and effectively.

· Must have strong direct sales and negotiation skills.

· Excellent time management and organization skills

· Ability to work under minimal supervision and effectively manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Must have strong technical skills, with ability to learn and communicate features of complex products to customers

· Prepared to travel anytime.

· Excellent interpersonal and project management skills.

· Must be proficient in MS Office and virtual presentation applications.

· Must pass drug and background check.
