Blue Line Distribution, the in-house distributor for Littles Caesars Pizza, has been family owned and operated for over 50 years; and is dedicated to leading customized and innovative food service logistics with safety as a top priority. We are now hiring for a Regional Supply Chain Manager for our International Supply Chain Department.

Job Summary
Ensures that markets have access to the lowest cost products from approved suppliers at the right time and place. Manages the supply chain/purchasing and quality assurance functions for assigned international market(s), both existing markets and potential new markets. Identifies, selects, and negotiates with suppliers and enforces company specifications. Responsible for establishing and building strategic relationships with key international franchisees, suppliers and distributors; reaching targeted quality, cost-savings and profitability goals; partnering with US purchasing, quality assurance and research and development teams to ensure consistencies in protocols and processes.

Key Responsibilities
Identify, select and establish relationships with suppliers and distributors (whether company-related or third party) for a specific geographic region that meet company quality standards and specifications.
Successfully negotiate favorable pricing, terms and agreements with suppliers, either directly for company-related initiatives or together with franchisees. Partner with suppliers and internal teams to identify cost savings opportunities.
Seeks optimal overall Supply Chain solutions taking into account country-level, region-level, US-based or global alternatives.
Monitor performance of new and existing international suppliers to ensure suppliers meet specifications and deliver according to agreement.
Evaluates existing and potential suppliers’ ability to consistently produce products to company specifications and achieve desired volume.
Evaluates existing and potential suppliers through product testing. Documents performance results and follows up to ensure adjustments are made.
Manages critical product lines (e.g. meat, cheese and sauce). Works with company’s food technologists regarding specific product information and testing. Analyzes lab data and communicates results to suppliers with recommendations for improvements.
Addresses product complaints and provides solutions for how to resolve (e.g. put product on hold, contact supplier or distributor, implement market withdrawal or recall as needed, etc.)
Establishes and maintains a good working relationship with franchisees and their directors.
Communicates with quality assurance and research and development teams and makes recommendations for new products and changes to specifications to existing products to meet international needs.
All of the above to be done as applicable for existing markets as well as part of the preparation process for entry into new markets.
Supplemental Job Functions
Understand, research and monitor commodity markets, industry trends, world currency markets and the latest manufacturing and packaging technology.
Participate in the budgeting process for purchasing and supply chain management.
May be responsible for departmental staff.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or related discipline. (Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of specific degree specialization.)
Minimum of five (5) years of varied supply chain and quality assurance experience in the food industry, preferably in the restaurant industry.
Knowledge of the food industry manufacturing practices, distribution and familiarity with governmental regulations for the designated region of responsibility.
Ability to communicate effectively with franchisees, vendors and other departments, often communicating complex technical data to a variety of audiences.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Good interpersonal skills and ability to resolve conflicting points of view.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex projects and initiatives simultaneously with a results-oriented approach.
Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, database, Internet and documentation software).
Sensory abilities for product evaluation.
Ability to travel extensively and to adhere to the company corporate travel policy.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience with lab analysis and testing on products used in the pizza business.
Previous experience in food manufacturing and/or a demonstrated understanding of production.
Ability to speak Spanish.
Working Conditions
Works in a normal office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, noise, dust and the like.
Travels to other businesses, site locations, construction sites, existing sites, store and offices via car and/or airplane.
