Responsibilities:
The ICU RN:
- Delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice
- Experience monitoring patient progress and with providing updates to doctors, patients, and family members
- Knowledge of nursing care methods, procedures, and emergency care
- Care for patients throughout their recovery in the ICU unit
- Expert knowledge of health and safety guidelines/procedures (sanitation, decontamination, etc.)
- Excels at communicating with a team and has strong interpersonal skills
- Responsible and compassionate with patients
- Able to multitask with strong organizational skills
- Calm under pressure with excellent problem-solving skills
- Able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment
- Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality
Education and Experience:
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Completion of Critical Care Course, preferred
- Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital/critical care, preferred
- Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification, preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), preferred
