Spring + Heights Hospital is looking night med surg/in-pt nurses in both their Spring location and Heights location.

SUMMARY: The In-Pt Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients in a hospital Emergency Room. This includes coordinating incoming patients, assessing and examining patients, completing patient documentation, plan long-term care needs, administer medicine, use medical equipment, perform minor medical operations, and advise patients and their families on illness, care and continued care after a hospital stay.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITY:

· Quickly assess and prioritize care based on the critical nature and severity of a patient’s condition.

· Stabilizing patients in critical condition. Working quickly & efficiently under pressure to provide immediate care, often with little to no information.

· Possess strong critical thinking skills.

· Ability to remain calm in a stressful, labor-intensive environment.

· Excellent time management & prioritization skills with attention to detail.

· Conducting initial psychiatric / nursing evaluations for new patients

· Assessing patients daily for level of physical, emotional, and social stability

· Offering guidance throughout treatment for better goal attainment

· Monitoring for change in mood or demeanor

· Intervening with de-escalation techniques to lead the patient back to safety and stability

· Providing supervision to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) / Patient Care Advocates (PCAs)

Provides quality patient care to patients on voluntary inpatient unit

· Administers medications, provides wound care, monitors patients for medication efficacy and symptom improvement

· Assumes responsibility and accountability for effectively managing nursing care of individual patients/families as a team member.

· Documents the nursing process to reflect a comprehensive and integrated approach to patient and family care.

· Evaluates patient’s responses to care based on effectiveness of nursing interventions/actions in relationship to established outcomes and consults with Medical Staff, CNO, and Nurse Manager.

Pay: $25.96 - $68.30 per hour
