Responsibilities
The Manager of Government Reimbursement plays a key role in implementing, monitoring, and enforcing University policy along with governmental regulations with the goal of minimizing risks associated with all aspects of billing and reporting as one method of preventing and detecting inappropriate, improper, and fraudulent conduct. In addition to managing a portfolio of compliance audits and investigations, the manager oversees the workflow and performance of provider enrollment analysts. Functions with autonomy demonstrating sound judgement and discretion. Supervises approximately five employees.
Required Qualifications
Applicants are encouraged to upload certification required of the position
- Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist-Professional from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
- Several years of leadership experience, including employee supervision and HR administration to effectively lead and motivate others; conflict resolution skills to resolve personnel issues and counsel assigned staff to develop cooperative working relationships
- Two or more years performing billing audits and/or quality control audits
- Experience with ICD-10 diagnosis, ICD-10 procedures, HCPCS level I and II codes, and CPT Coding with coding experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or a combination of experience, education and/or training
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to accommodate special projects, deadlines, and multiple priorities
- Experience assessing learning needs of staff and to participate in training and development to promote growth within their position and the University
- Presentation skills to organize media methods for education and training to faculty, staff, Department and Division Administrators that may include the ability to communicate technical concepts in non-technical terms
- Strong knowledge in reimbursement, financial reporting concepts and industry best practices. Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge in an acute care setting to improve revenue capture
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Coding Specialist, Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based, Certified Professional Coder-Hospital Outpatient, Certified Professional Coder, or documented evidence of continued coding education without certification

This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
