Reliability Engineer Job at Cameron LNG LLC
Primary Purpose:
The Reliability Engineer is responsible for championing activities activities/programs aimed at ensuring Cameron LNG achieves reliability/availability targets such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Bad Actor program, and other reliability improvement tools (e.g. Failure Modes and Effects Analysis – FMEA). In addition, this position will have responsibilities related to the established Cameron LNG Engineering Service Request (ESR) program.
This position is located in Hackberry, LA. Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) is required. Employees’ primary residence must be located within a one-hour drive from the Hackberry plant site. This measure will assure that response time for callouts is kept to a minimum, which increases the safety of our employees in an unexpected or emergent situation.

Responsibilities/Duties:*

Champion Company towards creating a culture that constantly strives to define the root cause for equipment failure or reliability performance issue, loss of primary containment, production loss, etc.
- Manage the RCA program and drive continual improvement in the program.
- Form and/or lead RCA teams utilizing established RCA methods.
- Facilitate and ensure high visibility of the RCA program utilizing reports, information sessions and effective communication within different departments.
- Initiate an effective RCA training program for RCA Team Leads and all relevant personnel involved in RCA’s.
- Facilitate the creation & use of standardized equipment failure symptom and cause codes.
- Manage the Bad Actor program designed to identify gaps in Company’s reliability strategies.
- Monitor equipment reliability metrics and performance to operating integrity windows and partner with Operations and Maintenance Team to prioritize work and improvement.
- Identify opportunities to increase equipment reliability and uptime, reduce costs, and associated work.
- Manage ESR program to include continual improvement, training, reporting, etc.
- Special projects as assigned – i.e. Lead continual improvement events and generate cost savings that improve site performance.
- Consult with other Facilities Engineers on KPIs/metrics/methods for reliability improvements

Qualifications:*

Education:*
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering required; Mechanical discipline preferred

Experience:*
- 5+ years in the petrochemical industry with experience in a similar position of responsibility. Expertise in an operating LNG liquefaction plant or similar facility a plus
- Experience as a RCFA facilitator/leader
- Application experience of reliability management systems and tools (FMEA, RCM, etc.)

Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities:*
- Expertise in developing or managing a Bad Actor Program
- Ability to lead/facilitate RCAs, FMEA, and other reliability-based initiatives
- LEAN/Six Sigma training/experience a plus
- Have basic computer skills including project management, database, and use of Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English.
- Organized and able to manage multiple activities timely and with a high degree of accuracy.
- Self-starter with ability to work strategically with minimal direction.
- Driven to meet and exceed performance parameters.
- Strong attention to details.
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Able to remain calm and effective in emergencies. Understands and deals comfortably with a sense of urgency.

- Possesses the personality and ability to relate to and to establish a mutually respectful relationship with 1) management, 2) peers and 3) the various facility level workers whom are all responsible for ensuring good operations.

Physical/Other Requirements:*
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, run, sit, kneel, twist, bend, pull, push, carry, lift, reach overhead and drive. Most activities involve movement of either the upper and lower body extremities or both and the joints associated with these areas of the body.
- Must be able to enter confined spaces.
- Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces and climb stairs and ladders that ranges from 4 ft to 200 ft.
- Must be able to lift equipment needed to perform work.
- Must be able to wear safety equipment such as safety harness, respirator and other protective equipment as needed to perform job.
- Must be willing to be on call, work overtime as required and handle emergency response responsibilities.
- Must be willing to travel for trainings and meetings as required.
