Our Pasadena site focuses on the production of plasticizers in a cost-effective, reliable, and safe manner. As a Maintenance Manager, you will be instrumental in developing leadership, direction, focus for the maintenance and reliability team, as well as the turnaround team. You will drive continuous improvement working to achieve the best-in-class Maintenance reliability and organizational performance, lowered costs, and uptime availability. You will exhibit strong consideration for safety, environmental stewardship and training and development. You will sit on the site leadership team.

As a Maintenance and Reliability Manager you create chemistry by…

• Utilizing your strong leadership skills, you will develop department goals, objectives, and maintenance budgets that are aligned with business objectives, monitor performance against those objectives, hold yourself and team member accountable to the goals and coach/ manage performance.
• You will assure reliable operations and have direct management responsibility of maintenance, engineering, reliability, and turnaround - including the work management process (this includes notification, prioritization, planning, scheduling, execution, feedback, and reliability).
• You will manage the work execution of BASF and Contract employees. Ensure work execution productivity (Time on Tools) and first-time repair quality supporting optimized maintenance cost. Identify continuous improvement opportunities to enhance the overall maintenance work process and improve cost effectiveness and efficiency.
• Develop and implement the maintenance and reliability strategy (Mechanical Integrity, PM/PdM, Equipment Strategies, Bad Actor, equipment criticality, etc).
• Managing budgets and maintaining KPIs will be critical as you develop, track, and report all key Maintenance KPIs in support of sustaining work processes, plant availability, and Maintenance costs.
• Your strong commitment to Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) will be essential as you ensure all activities within the organization are aligned with and supportive of the site’s Journey to EHS excellence.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

• Engineering Bachelor’s degree or similar educational background preferred.
• Leadership experience and interpersonal skills are a valued asset.
• Cost tracking / Forecasting.
• Demonstrated experience in Maintenance / Operations in the chemical industry with a commitment towards safety.
• Open mindset and flexibility.
• Maintenance technical know-how.
