Remote Nutritionist or Health Educator - Part-time - 3 positions Job at Georgia Department of Public Health
These positions are 100% remote for 29 hrs/week. Candidates must be a resident of the State of Georgia.
The East Central Health District is the lead agency entrusted by the people of the state of Georgia with the ultimate responsibility for the health of communities and the entire population.
The agency is seeking highly qualified candidates for the positions of part-time Remote Nutritionist or Health Educator for our Nutrition (WIC) Program, There are currently 3 hourly positions available for 29 hrs per week..
***Positions will temporarily be payrolled through a local staffing agency, who will also complete full onboarding process for those candidates offered a position. Selected candidates will be onboarded, and subsequently payrolled, by ECHD upon completion of new software implementation.***
These positions will provide nutrition services to clients in the WIC Program as assigned. Staff will complete nutrition screening, assessment, and education for a minimum of 2 clients per hour working up to 29 hours a week during the hours 9AM and 8PM, Monday through Sunday. All training will be provided virtually. Computer and cell phone will be provided.
- Must be a resident of the State of Georgia.
- Must have reliable internet service.
- At least one year of WIC experience preferred.
Nutritionist/Dietitian: Bachelor's degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university AND verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Payrate is $30/hr for Nutritionist and $35 for Registered Dietician.
Health Educator: Master’s degree in public health education from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor’s degree in education, social, behavioral, or biological sciences or a directly related field from an accredited college or university. Payrate is $25/hr for Health Educator.
According to Georgia Public Health WIC Program Guidelines, candidates without a verification statement, who can comply with the following requirements, may be eligible for consideration in this position: *Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a nutrition field from an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) but did not earn a verification statement. A letter from the DPD program director stating the individual successfully completed the program but did not earn a verification statement can serve as coursework verification OR Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences, Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, or Public Health Nutrition from an accredited college or university that meets specific coursework criteria. Employment Information
Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary.
DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
The candidate selected for this position may be subject to pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.
