Star Equipment Ltd,one of Iowa's leading Construction Equipment and Supply Distributors, has an opening in our Cedar Rapids rental department - 2950 6th St SW, for a Rental Coordinator.

Star Equipment is a family-owned company in business since 1968, serving Iowa with 4 locations - Ames, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines and Waterloo. Equipment lines we represent include Multiquip, Husqvarna, Mustang, Takeuchi and Schwing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Answer rental phone calls, handle and sell to customers courteously and professionally, obtain as much information as possible so as to provide the proper equipment. Be able to sell rental both in-house and by phone.
• Organize and administer all requirements of department including training and supervising rental personnel; maintain files; necessary paperwork, including computer, schedule equipment (delivery, pickup or repair).
• Be aware of equipment availability and condition; analyze general condition of equipment and schedule for preventive maintenance, minor repairs in department or send to service (keep check status), prepare units for use, checking for overall proper working condition.
• Be able and willing to pickup and deliver equipment and/or arrange schedule of same daily.
• Check equipment in and out, following safety instructions, handle damage problems properly.
• Study and upgrade your knowledge of our equipment, methods and customer needs and usage.
• Coordinate efforts with sales on new equipment preparation, demos, cross train with other departments.
• Maintain housekeeping for rental area, including rental yard.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Be a self starter - see what needs to be done and handle accordingly.
• Courteous personality with good phone mannerism.
• Knowledge of construction equipment, operation and capability, with ability to problem solve.
• Be able to organize and motivate personnel.
• Above average computer skills.
• Clean driving record.
