If you are knowledgeable, accurate and have a solid attention to detail, our San Benito location has an opening for you. We are looking for a general experienced mechanic to troubleshoot and repair all types of construction rental equipment.

Essential job functions:

*Equipment inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on general rental and/or forklifts and high reach equipment.

*Operates and maintains equipment such as booms, forklifts, compressors, generators, hydraulic and electrical tools and small engine equipment.

*Maintains the timely and accurate completion of preventative maintenance duties.

*Respond to emergency on-site service call situations, as necessary.

*May be required to assist and/or train others.

*Perform assigned duties with little or no supervision.

Requirements:

* Ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of mechanical and electrical equipment.

* Good communications skills.

* Identify and implement effective courses of action to complete assigned work.

* Read and interpret specifications and service manuals.

* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those encountered throughout the workday.

* Compliance with Company’s policies and procedures.

* Provide own work tools.

* Knowledge of Tejas Equipment Rental’s equipment.

* Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, gas and pneumatic systems.

* Understanding of equipment and safety regulations pertaining to the work being performed.

* Computer use and knowledge would be fantastic.

* Checks equipment for safety decals and safe operating features and maintains an accurate schedule and record of maintenance.

* Assists in familiarizing and training customers on equipment and vehicles.

* Demonstrates orientation toward excellent customer service by conducting daily activities, communications, and interactions in a cooperative, positive, and professional manner.

* Minimum of one year experience in repairing and maintaining equipment, tools, and vehicles.

* High school diploma or equivalent required.

* Valid driver’s license.
