Job Description

Job Title: Electrical Repairman

Department: Water Distribution & Sewer Collection; Water and Wastewater Plants

Supervisor: Water & Sewer Superintendent

Purpose of Job:

Installation, maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment in the water distribution, sanitary sewer collection, water treatment plant, wastewater treatment plant and office facilities.

Job Qualifications:

Experience in electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair, especially related to water and sanitary sewer facilities; licensed electrician and /or an electrical related post-secondary degree a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install and maintain of electrical switchgear, motors, electrical controls, and monitoring devices.
• Install and maintain circuit breakers, switches, timers, relays, transformers, batteries, lighting, and metering.
• Install and maintain submersible pumps, electric motors, centrifugal pumps and any other pumps in the systems.
• Install and maintain water and sanitary sewer system telemetry equipment.
• Use third parties as needed to maintain and repair equipment, such as major pump repairs beyond capabilities at Commission and telemetry programming.
• Install and maintain water treatment plant and wastewater treatment plant equipment, including controls and monitoring systems.
• Schedule delivery of equipment to offsite repair facilities when required.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts needed to maintain equipment operation.
• Maintain accurate daily reports of work performed.
• Maintain accurate log of equipment maintenance.
• Operate department equipment and vehicles as needed.
• Exercise proper care of materials, equipment, vehicles and supplies.
• Perform all job duties and related activities in accordance with established safety practices.
• Ensure that all installations are performed in accordance with CUC, local, state and federal rules and regulations.
• Meet with the public and customers in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist in training of personnel moving into this position/classification.
• May be required to perform other duties not normally associated with this position upon request or as directed by the supervisor.

Chief Electrical Repairman

The lead person/supervisor of personnel in the electrical repairman position; schedule work and accountable for work performed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.40 per hour
