Purpose:
The National Replenishment Manager is responsible for providing high level leadership to the divisional Produce and Fresh Buyers in the management of inventory and division replenishment buying best practices. The National Replenishment Manager will provide strategic vision, direction, and support to Divisional Produce Buyers in setting and meeting all applicable key produce buyer performance standards will be Albert’s “inventory control, shrink and promotions growth champion.”
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead national produce and fresh purchasing projects and initiatives.
- Establish divisional produce and fresh buyer key performance annual goals and performance measurement.
- Establish buyer performance standards for inventory management and the expectations for the effective communication to the sales department.
- Coordinate the effective communication of opportunities for margin optimization during market advantage circumstances and forward buying.
- Measure and publish divisional performance in capturing opportunity sales using the various weekly produce hot sheet deals.
- Provide high level root cause analysis of shrink issues and publish to senior leadership, divisional management and supply chain team including action plans for course correction.
- Provide leadership to all divisional produce and fresh buyers in the creation and meeting/exceeding of divisional shrink goals.
- Manage and directly supervise assigned purchasing staff; perform all necessary supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage personnel, including: Build and maintain a qualified staff through effective recruiting; Communicate areas of responsibility and performance expectations, ensuring accountability for performance; Provide coaching, constructive feedback and timely, effective performance evaluations and development plans to improve skills, knowledge and abilities. o Ensure proper training of employees; Foster a cooperative and harmonious work environment to maximize employee morale and productivity.
- Develop divisional buyer bench by establishing buyer apprenticeship program.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the company in the articulation and execution of the company mission to be known as the industry leader in customer service and supply chain excellence.
- Provide management to all divisional produce and fresh buyers of the National Recall Program, to include the communication and execution of established SOPs in the event of any live recall.
- Provide leadership to all divisional produce and fresh buyers in the development and roll out of continuous professional training programs.
- Participate in national procurement meetings; provide integrated feedback to Business Managers on procurement issues that can affect customer satisfaction.
- Lead the development and implementation of continuous improvement programs to improve customer service levels and shrink control.
- Provide leadership in analyzing and developing strategies to improve aged and obsolete inventory management.
- Responsible for observing and ensuring Division Purchasing Teams perform in accordance with HACCP and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location.
- Responsible for following policy and procedures outlined in the Albert’s Organics’ Recall Plan.
- Embrace a high regard for safety. Observe all Company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in a highly ethical manner and in accordance with Company policies and procedures; embody and demonstrate these behaviors in a leadership role.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management.
Job Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 7 years related produce experience and inventory control; thorough knowledge of quality management practices to include current industry food standards and statistical techniques.
- At least 5 years management experience in a high-volume, multi-site produce/distribution/retail/wholesale/food industry environment.
- Must be highly proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Knowledge of inventory control processes. Must have valid driver’s license.
