Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Project Assistant for the Rutgers Lifespan Symptoms Profiles Achievements and Needs (LifeSPAN) in ASD Lab. The RA will coordinate multiple research projects focused on increasing understanding of autism in adulthood and assist in the integration of the lab with the Rutgers Center for Adult Autism Services Psychological Services Clinic.

- Prepares IRB applications, renewals and amendments.
- Recruits, screens, schedules, and maintains ongoing contact with participants for research projects.
- Consents research participants and assists in ongoing data collection and extraction.
- Oversees data management (including data tracking, entry and curation, basic analysis).
- Trains and coordinates volunteer students to support daily administrative research tasks (e.g., conduct literature review, input references, formatting tables and figures).
- Supports scientific publication and grant submission (e.g., conduct literature review, input references, formatting tables and figures).

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- B.A. in psychology or related field.
Certifications/Licenses
- Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver’s license would be required for this position.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Requires previous experience working in the area of clinical psychology research (particularly project coordination) and must possess skills in word processing, excel, REDCap and SPSS.
- In addition, must possess knowledge of general principles and practices within clinical psychology and the ability to use that knowledge for practical application.
- Experience with management of clinical research data using REDCap.
- In addition, clinical experience and/or training in psychoeducational and/or diagnostic assessment with autistic individuals is strongly desired (e.g., ADOS-2/ADI-R).
Preferred Qualifications
- Must have minimum 2 years experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other relevant clinical populations in clinical or research settings.
Equipment Utilized
- Requires proficiency in Microsoft office, Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience collecting data through the use of standard assessments, video coding and/or distribution of surveys.
- Proficiency using SPSS or equivalent programs.
- Familiarity with R, SAS and MPlus.
- Microsoft office, SPSS, REDCap.
