Reservations Supervisor Job at Shinola Hotel
Our Reservations Supervisor will be responsible for assisting in the management the hotel reservations Department as well as assisting the Director of Sales and the Assistant Director of Sales with coordinating groups. This position requires a strong multi-tasking ability.
As the reservations supervisors, you are responsible for managing the reservations department as well as coordinating all group sales along with our Director of Sales and Assistant Director of sales. You will be expected to communicate direction to all departments as well as give full support to all departments.
As a member of the management team you will be expected to lead by example and assist in guiding your team into achieving outstanding service and performance goals, while motivating everyone on your team to work proactively and ensure the success of the property.

Reservations Management
- Manage and maintain reservations standards within PMS and guest facing communication.
- Ensure staff is well trained and has ongoing training as needed on systems.
- Ensure staff is able to describe all hotel accommodations.
- Oversee accurate input of Reservations into system.
- Maintain system balances between PMS and CRS/GDS
- Analyze and manage all no-show, same-day cancel, early departure and unexpected stay-over patterns
- Clear all room type issues prior to arrival on a daily basis.
- Detail day of arrival list daily (correct notes/Billing ect…)
- Manage and over see correct notes are placed by reservations team
- Manage rate calendars
- Ensure rates are correct in PMS/GDS
- Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy, whatever time of day.
- Compose, type and edit all correspondence, develop and maintain follow-up task systems
- Provide relevant information to all departments as needed, receive and direct calls, respond to inquiries and research issues when appropriate.
- Manage guest follow up
Skills
- At least 2 years’ experience in a hotel reservations management
- Must be proficient with MS Word and MS Excel
- Knowledgeable in PMS and GDS systems
- Knowledge of interdepartmental systems a plus
- Refined organizational and team leadership skills.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
- Must be able to multitask
- Must have great people skills
- Must have great problem-solving skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
