Position Summary
The Department of Housing and Residence Life at Jackson State University is accepting applications for its Residence Hall Receptionist position located in the Alexander Hall building.
Qualifications
Minimum Required Education
Associate’s Degree required.
Minimum Required Experience
- Higher education experience required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office required.
Minimum Required Licenses and/or Certifications
None.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Must be willing to work overnight in the residence hall.
- Maintain order in the lobby of the residence hall or apartment complex.
- Serve as a resource for parents, students, and other university staff.
- Inform staff of incidents and violations.
- Stay informed on all matters that could affect response to emergencies including things that could cause emergencies and those that could effect response time or equipment problems.
- Perform hall duty rounds.
- Clerical duties such as typing, filing, and creating various reports.
- Maintain confidentiality in all facets of the positions.
