SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTIONS
Ready to join a successful and hardworking team of professionals? We are looking for long term Resident Assistants who are efficient at their job and compassionate and friendly with others. At Ashton Grove we emphasize mutual support and working together to achieve our goals. That goal is simple- to keep our wonderful residents as happy and healthy as possible.
To be more specific, a Resident Assistant (RA for short) is responsible for serving the needs of residents living here at Ashton Grove. They assist our less independent residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, eating, dressing and washing. This position may work in both Assisted Living and Memory Care units.
Some light housekeeping is required. RAs all contribute to doing laundry and trash removal for the residents. There is some light dusting and vacuuming, and tidying during down time when residents are asleep.
You'll be working under the guidance of our Wellness Director and Memory Care Director. We follow proper procedure to determine best plan of care for each resident- you will be assisting with implementing that plan.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this position successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. All RA’s must:
- Be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Demonstrate an ability to read, write and understand job-related information and directions in English.
- Have first-aid training within sixty (60) days of hire
- Demonstrate that you can provide personal care without supervision. That includes assisting with bathing and grooming, dressing, eating, etc.
- Ability to recognize changes in resident's conditions evidenced by physical symptoms, verbal expression, or observation of change in mental or psychosocial status.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and use good time management, even in stressful situations that require quick thinking.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. We want good communicators!
Please be able to Lift/Carry up to 50 pounds, Push/Pull up to 50 pounds, and be in good physical condition. This is an active position that requires sitting, standing, bending, walking, etc. You'll be moving around a lot.
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. You'll be working in a facility with individual rooms and apartments. We keep the atmosphere as comfortable as possible to give the residents the feeling that they are home. It IS their home!
