The Seminole Youth Home provides care for Tribal children ages 0 to 17 years old. We are looking for caring, professional staff to work either 1 weekend day and 4 weekdays (Sundays to Thursdays or Tuesdays through Saturdays) or work through the weekends and have 2 days off during the week. While the home runs 24/7, we mainly need help with second shift which is 1pm to 10pm. Flexibility needed to work various shifts and days of the week. Note the Youth Home is on the Big Cypress Reservation at 35195 Henry Osceola Rd, Clewiston, FL 33440. We do provide a fuel stipend if you live more than 40 miles away from the Youth Home. Also, we use tribal vehicles to drive the kids to appointments in neighboring counties, go on day outings, and occasional overnight trips.
Position Summary
The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting in the direct care and providing a safe environment to the youth admitted to the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Youth Home. The individual provides daytime and overnight relief to the Youth Home Administrator, Residential Support Specialist and Facilities Specialist, monitoring and supervising residents; ensuring compliance with house rules, regulations, and assisting in the daily operational/housekeeping functions.
Qualifications / Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. Associate’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health or Criminal Justice is preferred. A minimum of one (1) year of experience working as a Residential Technician or similar field supervising and/or monitoring youth is required. An equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be considered. The incumbent must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Availability and willingness to work a wide array of hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays is required by the position. A Member of the Seminole Tribe of Florida is preferred.
