Purpose of Position
- Perform general light fixture assembly and carpentry functions to safely and effectively install lighting, ballasts, controls, or other items associated with lighting systems at customer job sites.
- This position may also include delivery driver duties with the responsibility of loading and moving primarily lighting fixtures.
- 1-3 years of prior work-related experience
- Lighting and retrofit experience required
- Previous experience in reading and interpreting construction drawings, plan-o-grams and blueprints
- Working experience in vehicle operation in less than desirable weather conditions
- Working knowledge in delivery vehicles and material handling equipment (i.e. fork lift, hand truck, dolly)
- Working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations and codes
- Education sufficient to read, write, speak and understand English to communicate effectively
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to read a tape measure
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools
- Perform installation and carpentry functions such as assembly of lights and light fixtures, general carpentry, leveling and balance adjustment, remove/dis-assemble existing equipment and/or lighting per the project scope
- Perform basic light maintenance
- Operate delivery vehicle in various weather conditions
