Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Department Director, the respiratory therapist is responsible for providing Cardiopulmonary services in accordance with specific Physician orders and departmental policies and procedures.
Salary range listed is a reflection of the base salary only.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Must be able to perform arterial punctures, blood gas analysis and interpretation of results
- Must be able to setup, monitor and maintain a ventilator as necessary, including patient care such as airway management and tracheal suctioning
- Perform EKG's, including recognition of basic arrhythmias, as ordered on an in-patient, outpatient and emergency basis
- Performs exercise and dobutamine stress testing as ordered
- Performs pulmonary function testing as ordered
- Responsible for stocking, maintenance, cleaning and disinfection of respiratory therapy equipment
- Treat patients with respiratory diseases and conditions using specialized medical equipment, oxygen therapies and manual treatment techniques
- Examine and evaluate patients for respiratory problems
- Operate medical equipment to carry out cardiopulmonary tests
- provide interdepartmental assistance and support as needed within the scope of individual competency
Qualifications and Skills
- Graduate of an approved Committee on Accreditation of Respiratory Care Program
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or completion of a 2-year program in Respiratory Therapy Technology
- Current Texas State License as Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Critical care, pediatric and neonatal experience is preferred
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP and PALS required

Pay: $48,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
