Details about this exciting opportunity:
- Respite Worker Consultant to work as a companion/escort for the frail elderly in Westchester County, NY.
- Compensation: $15.00/hour.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Providing stimulating companionship, supervision, and socialization.
- Providing a meal, if needed.
- Taking the elderly client for a walk or help them with their exercises, accompany on errands, or a medical appointment, if appropriate.
- Play cards, Bingo, Scrabble, etc, when appropriate.
- Read to them, listen to music, watch television together; do crafts; look at photographs, etc.
- Report any unusual events or problem to the family and to Project Time-Out.
If you have the following:
Qualifications:
- Atleast 17 years of age.
and Attributes:
- Ability to communicate, read, and write English or in client’s primary language.
- Ability to understand and carry out simple verbal and written directions.
- Ability to get along well with others, patience, kindness, and dependability.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
