GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Wintergreen is seeking a restaurant manager. Our member and resort guest exclusive establishment with spectacular views overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains makes it the place to be when the sun sets over the mountain.

In this position, you will participate in all aspects of managing the restaurant and be responsible for the smooth and effective operation of the entire eatery. As you directly supervise the front-of-the-house staff, you also will manage and work closely with the head chef to ensure that both the kitchen and serving staff create a positive and efficient restaurant environment.

In addition, you will lead a variety of management and functional activities: recruit, train, coach, and develop your staff, conduct restaurant meetings with associates to enhance communications, deal with associate and customer challenges, order liquor, beer, and wine, and maintain the proper percentages of cost for those items and food. Maintain a clean, well-functioning facility with adequate inventory of all equipment, manage and schedule front-of-the-house staff and develop and implement programs to increase revenues and profitability, among other duties.

SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous restaurant management experience with successful results is required. You must be self-motivated, have excellent communication and leadership skills, be well-organized and neat, and have a basic knowledge of wines and food preparation. Furthermore, strong candidates will be able to implement continuous training programs, work effectively under pressure, and adeptly interview and select the right staff.

SCHEDULE:

This position requires working weekends, holidays, and some late night schedules. Wintergreen offers competitive pay and a full range of insurance and recreational benefits.
