General Position Summary:
Provide excellent service to our members and guests in each of our dining outlets. This position will include working in multiple restaurant outlets depending on need.

Essential Job Functions/Major Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that members and their guests receive an enthusiastic, prompt, positive, service driven dining experience.
2. Need to be a dynamic and hardworking member of the team; must be willing to lend a helping hand to any teammate at any time.
3. Display a fresh, optimistic, and amiable attitude; you are here to serve our members/guests and provide them with an exceptional dining experience.
4. Need to be able to think quickly on your feet and successfully multi-task larger sections.
5. Arrive in the restauarnt in complete uniform ready to greet members/guests and begin work at scheduled time.
6. Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
7. Complete all assigned side work/cleaning projects and opening/closing duties.
8. Demonstrate consistent and punctual attendance for daily shift meetings and the ability to articulate new information to members and guests.
9. Provide service as outlined in the Multnomah Athletic Club Food Service Manual and the Steps of Service Timeline.
10. Ensure all timing standards are met.
11. Utilize suggestive selling techniques.
12. Make verbal and/or visual with all tables every time in section.
13. Maintain and correctly handle restaurant equipment and supplies so that unnecessary wear and tear, breakage, and waste do not occur.
14. Comply with all Club safety policies and procedures demonstrating safe work practices. Identify and report unsafe or hazardous work conditions. Report all workplace injuries and illnesses to a supervisor.
15. Ability to memorize menu items including the ability to describe at least three main ingredients and the method of preparation for each item.
16. Respond promptly and positively to management direction and requests.

Secondary Functions:
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • Participates in all club related training classes.
Job Scope:
Follows established practices and procedures for the Food & Beverage department. All assigned sidework has been completed to specifications each shift. Standing and bending for prolonged periods of time is necessary. Essential job functions require the use of the Point of Sale computer system and all restaurant related equipment.

Must display a fresh, optimistic, and amiable attitude with members, guests, staff, and management.
Ability to communicate effective in written and verbal form with staff, membership, guests, and the management team.
3. Need to be able to think quickly on your feet and successfully multi-task.

Specific Job Skills:
1. Essential job functions require the use of all restaurants related equipment.
2. Essential job functions require consistent walking, standing, and talking. Must be willing and able to work long and strenuous hours including weekends and holidays. Must be able to lift up to 25 lb. and use trays for carrying items.

Education and/or Experience:
1. Minimum two years of serving experience.
2. Possession of a valid food handler’s and OLCC permits.
3. Familiarity with proper etiquette for removing dishes and utensils from tables.
4. Demonstrated excellence in customer/guest service.
5. Ability to interact with members and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
6. Ability to memorize menu items including the ability to describe at least three main ingredients and the method of preparation for each item.
7. Ability to perform the essential job functions.
