We are a nationally recognized non-profit organization that sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, home goods, building materials, and more. All of the proceeds from our store directly help fund the mission of Habitat for Humanity in Washington & Dodge Counties.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary point of contact for drive through donations.
- Communicate policies to customers about donation acceptance guidelines.
- Unload materiel from donor vehicles, trucks and trailers.
- Sort donated material to be sold by department.
- Manage the recycling or disposal of any unwanted items.
- Clean and test merchandise to be sold.
- Research donations to ensure appropriate and competitive prices.
- Transfer priced merchandise to sales floor and display in a safe, attractive manner.
- Maintain high standards of merchandising and organization.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to frequently and safely lift and move furniture, large appliances, building material, and other bulky items*
*This is a physically demanding position. All applicants should be able to lift 50lbs independently, and potentially more with a teammates assistance. In addition, you will be required to be on your feet for most of the shift.
- Ability to establish, foster and maintain effective working relationships with other staff, volunteers, and the public.
- Ability to decline potential donations in a professional, courteous, but firm manner.
- Ability to arrive at work promptly and dressed neatly in a Habitat for Humanity shirt (provided).
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and on teams to complete projects.
