RETAIL DIETITIAN

Our independent ShopRite Supermarket chain is owned and operated by Inserra Supermarkets Inc. The chain consists of approximately 22 stores throughout New York and New Jersey.

We are currently growing quickly and as a result are seeking Dietitians to join our team. Our candidate must be a leader with excellent people skills and have experience in the health, wellness and nutrition fields.

We have an opening for full time dietitians in:

NORTHERN NEW JERSEY

Responsibilities:

• We are seeking a dietitian to work in our supermarket to educate our customers, associates and the surrounding community on food products, overall wellness and trends in nutrition.
• Our dietitian will be available in store to speak with and answer our customers’ questions on nutrition, to teach cooking classes, lead food demonstrations, store tours and educational sessions.
• Our dietitian will be required to host an array of nutrition focused events specific to their store each month.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong interest in health and wellness.
• Strong interpersonal and media skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
• Ability to generate ideas and think creatively.
• Ability to function independently and work without immediate supervision.
• Manage associate wellness initiatives, community outreach and in-store programming simultaneously.

Education/Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree with major in relevant field, such as nutrition, dietetics or food science, granted by a U.S. regionally accredited college or university.
• Completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the American Dietetic Association.
• Registered Dietitian with active registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association
• Maintains dietetic registration and continuing education requirements.
• 2-5 years’ experience in nutrition desirable
• Background in food manufacturing, retailing or clinical preferred.
