Position Overview:

Reporting to the District Manager, the General Manager is product-obsessed, and the ultimate brand ambassador for Blenders Eyewear. As a leader you drive the success of the store's business and customer experience by developing a team of talented leaders and Shade Specialists, all while embodying an entrepreneurial spirit that manages a highly productive store environment.

What you will do in this role:

  • Operations:
    • Maintains efficient store run operations by adhering to all policy, procedures and guidelines
    • Shows the ability to multitask, delegate and prioritize work to produce desired outcomes while being detail oriented
  • Inventory Management:
    • Protects our assets by adhering to all loss prevention procedures
    • Maintains inventory levels that will supply demand for expected traffic patterns and sales goals
    • Oversees daily inventory management including placing, receiving and confirming all store orders
    • Manages inventory counts in partnership with Retail Operations & Finance
  • Visual Merchandising:
    • Ensures visual merchandising and maintenance standards are executed and met at all times.
    • Collaborates with Retail Operations on assortment needs, local trends, and store requests to guarantee financial goals are met
    • Leads the team in daily maintenance of the store including restocking product, maintaining visual merchandising, and cleaning.
  • Sales and Profitability:
    • Runs the store with agility by achieving financial targets through a strategic approach
    • Develops sales driving initiatives that attract a new customer and build a repeat business
    • Reviews weekly KPI analytics and quarterly P&L statements to constantly drive the business forward with informed decision making
    • Generates new ideas & apply an entrepreneurial spirit that help builds & improves the business
  • Customer Service:
    • Leads the Blenders values and brand philosophy by creating an environment that consistently delivers excellent customer experiences
    • Creates and manages a productive sales floor environment by training & coaching staff
    • Owns and drives the store’s Yelp and Google pages and ratings
  • Community Outreach/Events:
    • Creates relationships with other brands/organizations in the local community to host/participate in events to grow brand awareness in the local market.
    • Works with the Marketing team to support & execute any company initiatives and campaigns hosting in store or in market events
    • Works with the Assistant Store Manager to build relationships with the community and set the precedent for local outreach and events.
    • Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates monthly events that increase brand/store awareness, drive sales & foot traffic in store and increase engagement & involvement from local groups.
    • Coordinates communication with event vendors and partnering with local brands & groups for in-person and in store events.
    • Manages event logistics, including scheduling, timelines, budgeting, marketing, and forecasting.
    • Travel, evening, and weekend work may occasionally be required with events. Some flexibility with schedule is allowed based on duties and responsibilities and will be discussed.
  • Leadership:
    • Works with District Manager on stretch assignments to support the District & stores needs in training & development of new store leaders, strategy & community outreach event planning & hosting.
    • Ensures accurate and timely processing of employee paperwork, payroll, time/attendance, scheduling, employee changes & employee discipline.
    • Leads by example and translates the company's overarching core values, vision & strategy in a way that resonates with the team & maximizes business.
    • Motivates the sales team and achieves sales goals in a team-based selling environment.
    • Owns the fast pace growth by consistently recruiting and hiring, on brand & customer experience driven, top talent

Lastly, Is this you?

  • You have 5+ years experience as a GM/Store Manager or an equivalent related role
  • You have experience as a well established Store Manager or General Manager who has overseen the success of a large volume location ($4+ million)
  • You are a team leader who is passionate about leadership development and is comfortable providing and receiving feedback
  • You are proficient and an expert user of core systems & technologies

Requirements of the job:

  • You have open availability for a flexible work schedule that meets the needs of the business, including overnights, evenings, holidays and weekend shifts
    • Available morning and evening, work 8 hour shifts, 5 days/week
    • Must be a leader in punctuality and attendance, adhering to scheduled shifts.
  • You can lift (at least 50 pounds), carry, push, pull, squat, climb ladders, reach, bend and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn new procedures and processes
  • Strong organizational skills and follow through skills.
  • Excellent oral & written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of ownership, accountability and initiative.
  • Eager to develop new skills and responsive to feedback
  • Ability to develop relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • A customer service expert, creates experiences and develops relationships with customers, embraces the social aspect of sales and the ability to positively and proactively handle customer concerns.

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000/yr. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses or commissions.
