The Country Store is the retail division of Skagit Farmers Supply, a diversified local agricultural supply cooperative. The company was founded in Burlington, WA in 1934. We have grown and developed into four business divisions: agronomy, retail, energy, and wholesale distribution & milling. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Greet customers and promptly assess their wants and needs. Advise customers on purchase options.
• Utilize customer-focused selling skills, add-on selling, closing skills and other sales-generating techniques
• Organize and effectively merchandise items for sale
• Accurately operate the point-of-sale system according to established procedures
• Process returns, exchanges and payments on account
• Maintain product stock in the store and warehouse
• Monitor merchandise for correct location assignments, accurate and clean bin labels, expired products, and stock rotation
• Assist by loading and unloading products
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Practice punctual and reliable attendance
• Exhibit an ability to get along with others
• Perform other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma (or equivalent)
• Possess a valid driver license and maintain a safe driving record
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment (includes testing for THC/marijuana)
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently
• Lift, carry and load 60 pounds (minimum) weight requirements
• Ability to demonstrate basic computer skills
• Proven track record of being dependable and reliable
• Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with co-workers and customers
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Commitment to excellence especially in terms of providing outstanding customer service

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working in a retail setting
• Product knowledge preferred in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, horse/equine, hardware, fencing, lawn & garden supplies, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, or wild bird supplies.

SCHEDULE

This is a part-time (16-32 hours/week) position. Sunday through Saturday. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

$16.50 - $18.50/hour. Upon meeting eligibility benefits, the company offers the following benefits to part-time employees:
