The primary responsibility of this position is the supervision and coordination of workflow within LSM Central Billing and ensures the department and individual clinics adhere to established policies and procedures regarding insurance and billing.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
· People Management: Supervise the day-to-day activities of the assigned staff by guiding, training and directing work activities. Responsible for the performance management of team members.
· Financial: Audit accounts receivable at all clinics and in central billing; note and correct discrepancies. Perform collection efforts, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company policy requirements. Ensure daily deposits are recorded and delivered to the finance manager for deposit. Approve refund requests and payment plans. Ensure statements are sent to applicable patients on a monthly basis.
· Records Review: Generate, review and submit all insurance claims (electronic and paper). Review medical records to ensure the clinics meet guidelines established by carriers, governments, etc. Review medical necessity disputes for Workers Compensation claims.
· Information Management: Control and maintain software, hardware (to include the LSM laptop and projector), and related computer applications. Approve database changes and ensure ongoing EMR user account auditing. Generate statistical reports as requested.
· Confidentiality: Display a high level of integrity by maintaining the confidence of proprietary information. Protect all tangible and intangible company assets including proprietary software and databases.
Additional Job Responsibilities:
· Conduct special projects as assigned
· Serve as back-up to Clinic Assistant
Required Skills and Competencies:
· High School diploma, or equivalent
· 5-7 years experience in Health insurance/billing procedures
· Demonstrated knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid/Third Party Liability
· Familiarity with CPT and ICD-9 coding
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to prioritize tasks and successfully manage multi-tasking situations
· Demonstrated ability to think critically and solve problems
· Strong customer service skills and attention to detail
· Ability to use discretion and judgment in dealing with sensitive and confidential information
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and database management tools
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
· Advanced degree related to field
· Experience leading teams of people
Other:
· Must be able to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds

Pay: $70,000.00 per year
