Risk Management Analyst Job at Westchester County Government
The Westchester County Law Department, located in the heart of downtown White Plains, has an immediate opening for a Risk Management Analyst. The incumbent analyzes and inspects all County operations and functions as part of a comprehensive risk management and loss control program and is responsible for the full range of loss control and safety inspection and analyses over all County operational functions and locations.
Responsibilities include gathering information on current and projected activities of County departments to determine applicable risk management impact on Self-Insurance Fund and insured programs; Developing statistical data related to the frequency and severity of loss countywide and within each department; Reviewing non-recurring and capital budget submissions to identify any impact on Risk Management issues; Conducting field safety and loss control inspections of all County facilities; Developing policies and procedures for all aspects of loss control, including but not limited to personnel and vehicular safety, fire prevention, emergency evacuation of County buildings and legal liability; Assisting the Contracts Division of the Law Department with the development of indemnification requirements for contracts and reviewing all contracts for conformance; Does related work as required.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree, including course work specializing in insurance and 3 years of experience with a public agency or private industry involving insurance claims, claims adjustment, or safety loss prevention programs.
SUBSTITUTION: Coursework toward a Master's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field may be substituted at the rate of 30 credits per year of experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a valid NY State Driver’s license. Must be willing to work extended hours during a risk management high-priority operation or catastrophic event.
