Vein and Artery Surgical Consultants is currently seeking a Part-time RN to join our team. Hours are every Wednesday with no call or weekends. Our ideal applicant is energetic with strong critical thinking skills and must be comfortable and proficient with leg angiograms. We specialize in Interventional Vascular Care / Vascular Surgery, adults only. PATIENT:

RN will function as an integral part of the team by participating, implementing, and assisting in the care of patients undergoing angiography procedures. RN will demonstrate proficiency for all angiogram procedures and will provide continuous care to all patients within his/her scope of practice for all patients with multiple needs. Preferred vascular or critical care experience, be mature, responsible, self-motivated, patient conscious and possess the ability to use initiative and independent judgment.

JOB DUTIES:

• Performs/Assist nursing team with patient assessments pre, peri, and post procedure
• Maintains a safe, aseptic environment in the Cath Lab
• Administers medications as ordered by the physician
• Maintains competent knowledge of all procedures and adheres to procedure protocol
• Assists all personnel, patients, and physicians as needed
• Operates and maintains equipment in good working order
• Ensures that patient has an H & P documented by a physician according to appropriate standards prior to procedure
• Settles patient after procedures and provides accepting RN with concise reports on the patient
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with valid Texas license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification highly desired/recommended. Current specialty certification as required.
• Must have working knowledge of the nursing process as well as in depth knowledge of therapeutic, physical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, and developmental needs for a select category of patients.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
