District Manager Requirements

As District manager you oversee a large region of the country typically containing 20 or more stores. Operations Managers take ownership of all business functions at the retail locations within their region including, sales plans, payroll controls, inventory, staffing, training, and operating requirements. Operations Managers may work directly with Store Managers, or through Area Managers to exert control over said retail locations. Operations Managers coordinate between Corporate and the retail locations, adopt best practices and emphasize an employee ownership culture and can articulate the benefits of such to staff members at all levels.

  • Starting Pay of $65,000. Salary commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

This position oversees multiple units within the organization, as such there are substantial prerequisites

  • Guest service experience (3+ years)
  • Payroll Budgeting (3+ years)
  • Sales Trend analysis (3+ year)
  • Knowledge of advanced retail operations (3+ years)
  • Exemplify employee ownership culture
  • Microsoft Office [Excel] experience (3+ years)

Role Additional Duties

  • Create a culture of guest service at all retail locations through all levels of employees
  • Coordinate with Corporate to allocate resources as needed for each retail location, maximizing return on investment
  • Develop sales plans and tracking to identify opportunities for improvement and detail areas of success
  • Monitor inventory levels across the region and report on trends and out of stocks in a timely manner, coordinating with Purchasing to communicate and resolve inventory issues
  • Review operating hours, staffing coverage and payroll budgets, designing plans of action to address low performers as well as maximizing opportunities for strong performers
  • Monitor operating requirements by jurisdiction and operate within applicable rules and guidelines as required
  • Through use of succession planning, support effective growth with your region, both organic and new
  • Create, monitor and report on long term planning for each location within the region, modifying plans and goals as needed to build year over year success
  • Maintain a flexible schedule including overnight travel for extended periods of time and working of nights, weekends, holidays and as needed
  • Serve as point of contact for all employees in the region during all operating and off duty hours

Key Considerations for Position


Effectiveness in this position will be measured by several factors below, note that not all of these factors may be present at every work location or at all times:

  • Average Dollar Transaction (ADS) for the Region with and without Service Income at or above Company average
  • Average Units Per Transaction (UPT) for the Region with and without Service Income at or above Company average
  • Sales Plan by location performance
  • Maintaining payroll within budget

Physical Requirements

While not actively done on a day to day basis, this job will require bending, stooping, reaching, standing, lifting, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling and repetitive tasks. Operations Managers must be able to lift and handle objects weighing 50lbs or more in a safe manner (repeatedly) as well as standing (in place or moving) up to 100% of their shift. Due to the nature of retail business, you may be required to complete these duties for extended periods of time up to and including more than 12 continuous hours (break rules apply)

Supervisory Functions

Operations Managers oversee the activities of multiple retail locations, balancing the needs and expectations of each location and accomplishing required tasks in accordance with Company expectations and emphasizing a culture of guest service.
