Our Global Supply Chain business unit has approximately 17,000 employees, working from 54 production sites in 19 countries. We supply hygiene products for our business areas Consumer Tissue (Toilet paper, Household towels, Handkerchiefs, Facial tissues, Wet wipes and Napkins), Professional Hygiene (TORK) and Personal Care (Incontinence Products, Feminine Care and Baby Care). The unit was formed on June 1, 2019 by merging the two entities Supply Chain Development and Global Manufacturing. Prior to 2019, the unit operated in two separate entities, known as GHS Tissue and GHS Personal Care.

About the Role
Essity Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing team is looking for an experienced Safety and Quality Manager. This position is located at our manufacturing facility in Bowling Green, KY
The role of the Quality and Safety Manager is to lead and role model Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies as the department head. As the Manager, you will help continually improve the sites Quality Management System, and EHS Management Systems with the help of the supporting team members. The Manager will also ensure that the site is meeting all legal requirements related to EHS with the help of the EHS Leader. Monitor lab testing, respond to customer complaints and ensure actions are taken to eliminate those issues by collaborating with the Production teams. As the Manager, you will be responsible for developing the department’s site Masterplan to identify goals for the year that align with the sites CBN’s and monitor and track those results throughout the year. Identify, support, and implement cost-saving opportunities.
What You Will Do
- Lead and coach the Quality and Safety team (4 direct reports);
- Drive continuous improvement in the safety and quality systems;
- Develop and maintain a quality and safety culture within the site consistent with our core values;
- Leading, developing and coordinating employees and Quality team to achieve and maintain compliance for HPB, GMP, ISO 9001/ISO 14001, CE Mark and ISO 45001;
- Lead, develop, and implement site-wide training on quality systems tools and techniques (SPC, investigation techniques, troubleshooting, etc.);
- Develop a Health and Safety vision for the site based on legal compliance, continuous improvement enablers, and continuous improvement initiatives;
- Approving analysis and control methods used in the plant;
- Providing periodic reports as required and requested;
- Being informed about and ensuring compliance with regulations related to medical devices, ISO9001/ISO1400/ISO 45001 standards and Essity Systems procedures and HPB/GMP as applicable;
- Submission of Annual Establishment Registrations (FDA) and Establishment licenses (HPB of Canada);
- Submission of new-updated Device Listings (FDA) and Device Licenses (HPB of Canada);
- Submission of mandatory reports for MDR and/or MPR events to the FDA and/or HPB;
- Serve as the main contact between the site and corporate functions;
- Preparing and managing budgets for department;
- Be an active participant on the site leadership team;
- Represent the site within the safety and quality network;
- Support coordination of cost savings activities in the plant and ensure initiation of new ideas;
- Implement continuous improvement enablers for both safety and quality;
- To develop safety and quality masterplan for all team members that will help improve quality, health, safety and environmental practices for the site.
Who You Are
- Bachelor of Science Degree strongly preferred. Significant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement;
- Leadership skills;
- Experience with safety, quality, and environmental systems;
- Performance evaluation;
- Experienced ISO system implementation updates and new standards introduced;
- SPC or statistical analysis;
- Root cause analysis skills;
- Understanding of the auditing process, auditor certification preferred;
- Effective communication skills;
- Experience dealing with customer complaints;
- Experience in quality lab management;
- The ability to read and understand the SDS sheets to approve chemicals for the site;
- Experience developing, maintaining, and correcting departmental budget;
- Intermediate level knowledge in computer programs (word, power point, excel);
- Ability to lead and work on a project team;
- Advanced understanding in HPB GMP/ISO 14000/ISO 45001 requirements;
- Advanced knowledge in different areas related to Health and Safety (LOTO, machine safety, regulation, risk analysis, etc.).

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $113,000.00 - $142,000.00 per year
