JOB SUMMARY
The Safety Manager is responsible for safety processes and all related programs, including education of employees on Federal and State safety regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Able to meet the physical demands of the position according to the Physical Demands Analysis
  • Management oversight of the Mine Emergency Response Teams
  • Analyze and implement safety processes related to injury and accident prevention, work ergonomics and hazard recognition
  • Provide technical assistance related to injury prevention, safe operating practices, compliance with Federal, State, and Company regulations, equipment safety, fire protection, industrial hygiene and mining plans
  • Provide planning, implementation, coordination and direction on all Safety and related legal activities (MSHA, ATF, and State) of the Company.
  • Represent the Company with outside agencies and inspectors; and, supervise and coach Safety Representatives and EMTs.
  • Actively monitor and audit work processes and practices for safety compliance and coach employees to follow best safety practices
  • Responsible for developing and administering the division safety budget
  • Prepare and communicate findings and recommended corrective actions on division safety issues
  • “Champion” the development of consistent safety practices and programs between Eagle Butte and Belle Ayr mines
  • Identify and participate in safety training requirements
  • Maintain MSHA, NIOSH, Wyoming State Mine Inspection, and all other appropriate safety records
  • Ensure that all internal and external safety reporting requirements are met
  • Manage and develop the safety representative, EMTs and security personnel
  • Function as Eagle Specialty Materials safety liaison with Federal, State and other regulatory agency interaction
  • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
  • Other assignments and projects as may be assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $112,000.00 per year
