The Account Manager is responsible for developing and fostering a trusted consultive relationship with each of their assigned accounts. As the main point of contact, they will work directly with their accounts to forecast, track key account metrics, and communicate clearly on the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives. They will be responsible for developing multiple relationships, uncovering additional opportunities, and growing the account both by load count and revenue. They will work closely with the customer to provide rates both contractually and on a spot basis. They will monitor service levels, put operational plans in place, and discuss any opportunities for improvement.

In this role you will:

  • Provide customer service excellence by serving existing customer accounts
  • Maintain daily contact with customers to understand needs and identify business opportunities
  • Ensure on time pick-up and delivery of all customer freight
  • Negotiate rates with customers on a spot or contractual basis
  • Maintain contacts with motor carriers to cover freight lanes
  • Responsible for working with their leader and the Sales team to onboard and integrate new customers
  • Maintain a true understanding of the market and spot pricing
  • Grow and develop new and existing customers
  • Understand and leverage appropriate software and industry tools to improve margin yield
  • Assist in account development and account forecasting
  • Meet or exceed required margin and revenue goals
  • Takes initiative and perform other duties as assigned

What we are looking for:

· Freight Brokerage Sales and Operations (1+ years)

· Customer Sales experience, with verifiable sales growth track record (1+ years)

· Pricing and Margin Integrity achieved through effective negotiation skills

· Mode of Transportation (Combination of modes. i.e. Truckload, LTL, Produce, Temperature Controlled, Specialized, Over-dimensional, HazMat, flatbed etc)

· Creating a carrier following to support your customers

· Managed KPI’s (i.e. Sales Growth, Customer Development, Profitability, Market Penetration)

· Excellent communications (i.e. verbal, written, presentation skills) and follow-up

· High energy, persistent, and result driven Team player
