At our Blaine, WA - 20 12TH STREET Location, we are in need of full-time/part-time positions. Duty Free Americas, Inc. is a travel retailer offering our customers (traveling into Canada) top shelf liquors, international brand fragrances and quality gift items at Duty Free and/or significant price savings.

Position Objective

The Sales Associate is responsible for customer satisfaction as per the company Mission Statement this includes customer service, generating sales, store housekeeping, merchandising, signing, pricing, cash register operations(POS), adherence to Custom Regulations, loss prevention and all Company Policy/Procedure standards. The Sales Associate is held to the Fair and Accurate Transaction Act (FACT) for the protection of customer and other person information regarding receipts for debit and credit cards.

Position Responsibilities

· Ensure each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging all customers, maintaining excellent standards, and handling inquires/service in a professional manner with all components of excellent customer service

· Maintain an awareness of product knowledge information, merchandising promotions, and advertising features for the department assigned

· Assist customers by identifying and fulfilling needs and wants while creating up-sales and add-on purchases

· Participate in meeting store incentive programs as defined by DFA procedures

· Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash, media balances at POS registers including following laws and regulations of credit card confidentiality when assigned cashier duties

· Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise; participate in inventory and monitoring floor stock

· Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and store housekeeping

· Performs other duties as required

Essential Requirements

· Regular and reliable attendance. Flexibility and ability to work varied hours/days as business needs dictates.

· Ability to speak comprehensibly and hear effectively with customers, vendors and/or associates of the organization.

· Ability to read efficiently, perform basic mathematical functions (count, add, subtract, divide & multiply) and write to accurately complete work related documentation.

· Comprehension of cash handling (denominations of monies to make change)

· Vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

· Physical demands include frequently standing for long periods of time; walking; ability to reach above or below shoulders, twist at the waist, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, climb and balance.

· Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.

· Ability to operate electronic equipment (P.O.S., Credit Card Verification etc.) and use equipment (manual) such as ladder, step stool, objects with wheels, spray bottles and other cleaning equipment necessary to perform job function.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

· No experience necessary, preferable experience in a retail customer service environment

· High School Graduate, G.E.D. or equivalent work experience of more than one year in a sales position

· Ability to work well under pressure and time restraints

· Excellent interpersonal skills, adjust to variety of cultural personalities
