Sales Audit Analyst Job at Cato Corporation

Cato is seeking an experienced individual to join its Sales Audit, Banking and Inventory Reconciliation team.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating day-to-day work flow and operations of sales audit/banking job functions;
- Closing and balancing of sales to general ledger and other systems monthly;
- Reconciling and analyzing general ledger accounts including cash, bankcards, gift cards, layaway receivables and assigned liability accounts;
- Setting up store level bank account reconciliations for the team;
- Preparing weekly and monthly sales audit/banking reports;
- Coordinating and controlling the process of manual and system generated journal entries for month-end closing;
- Communicating with other departments and outside vendors;
- Participating in special projects and ad hoc reporting, as needed;
- Coordinating/delegating/performing miscellaneous departmental job functions;
- Working with external auditors, as needed; and
- Assisting department manager and associates.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years banking/accounting experience preferred;
- Associate or Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Accounting preferred;
- Above average knowledge, skills, understanding relating to bank accounts and their reconciliation;
- Above average knowledge, skills, understanding relating to double entry accounting;
- Courteous, professional personality and appearance;
- Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills;
- Ability to meet strict weekly and monthly deadlines; and
- Proficient 10-key, Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
