Sales Representative, (Construction Products) Job at MAPEI Corporation
MAPEI is looking for a Retail/Consumer Sales Representative to sell our products through the retail distribution channels. Work collaboratively with big box stores, contractors, architects and designers to promote the features and benefits of MAPEI products, working collaboratively with big box stores, contractors, architects and designers to promote the features and benefits of MAPEI products.
- Achieve targeted sales budget as established by the Company.
- Sell MAPEI Products with an emphasis on hands-on demonstrations using samples, and displaying salable product features.
- Create and conduct effective proposal presentations to prospective and existing customers.
- Make recommendations to prospects and existing customers of the various solutions MAPEI offers to their business issues.
- Develop lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
- Work with the Retailer Sales Representative in territory to call on local architects on major projects.
- Work with customer inside representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
- Coordinate and conduct customer training as needed.
- Participate in jobsite training, installation, inspection, product demonstrations, etc. as required.
- Provide market feedback regarding customer and competitors; provide recommendations for new products based on market needs.
- Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries.
- Visit jobsites and communicate potential product claims. Submit jobsite reports, pictures to include the topics discussed and follow-up needed.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures and instructions as defined in our Quality Management System (QMS), Employee Handbook, Health and Safety manual, or any other instruction issued by the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years’ experience in sales of commercial products.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Strong knowledge of the assigned market,/industry and a proven sales record.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently and to travel throughout the assigned territory
- Bachelor’s (B.A.) degree from a four year College or University, strongly preferred.
- At a minimum, require High School Diploma or GED
- Demonstrate proficient oral and written communication skills.
- You must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- The position requires the ability to work with a personal computer in a Windows environment. Use Microsoft Office Suite software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, as well as using the Internet.
