Summary


We have an exciting remote opportunity available for an experienced Scheduler II supporting our Alliance American EM/HM/Trauma/ICU Service Line. The Scheduler II obtains clinician availability each month and prepare complete hospital schedules. A Scheduler II must fill all open shifts and emergency openings as they arise, and is responsible for after hours on-call duty on a rotating basis, which varies according to office location.

Scheduler II to work from home from anywhere in the country!
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Understand and analyze contract requirements to identify available clinical resources for a site. Work with Site Management directly or indirectly to compose standard number of clinician schedules based on assigned contracts and needs in a way that meets schedule requirement while minimizing excess compensation. Keep Scheduling Leadership, Operations and Site Management apprised of schedule status on a regular basis, engaging their support as needed.
  • Educate clinicians on scheduling protocols and guidelines. Develop strong relationships with clinicians communicating via the phone, text and email to understand their needs and gain commitments to fill needed shifts. Leverage relationships to persuade and influence clinicians to take on additional shifts. Network with clinicians to obtain clinician referrals to assist in filling shifts.
  • Within the scope of the Scheduler's established authority limits, analyze situations and independently negotiate with clinicians to obtain commitments to fill shifts on an emergency basis while minimizing Increased Compensation. Escalate excess clinician compensation requests to appropriate management for approval.
  • Establish strong relationships with internal and external team-members. Work closely with credentialing, enrollment, recruiting, payroll and client administration to communicate schedules, following up on a new provider to ensure completion of the process before scheduling for the first shift, or communicate schedule status or problems.
  • Problem solve with scheduling team members to brainstorm issues, establish best practices, new approaches and provide support in filling shifts.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency, flexibility and a positive approach to problem solving within our fast-paced environment.
  • Enter schedules into company database and distribute as necessary within established deadlines; reconcile and track work hours and increased compensation for all clinicians and submit information to payroll for processing; provide reports to management as requested on a timely basis.
  • Work On-call on a rotational basis to cover evening, weekend, or holiday emergencies. Communicate problems to Scheduling Leadership, Operations and Site management as necesary.
  • Adhere to Information Security Policies and ensure that Envision is as secure as possible.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to cultivate relationships, delivering high level customer service in a complex and high paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Strong customer service experience working with patients and clinicians.
  • Able to work an 8 hour schedule between the hours of 6am and 6pm.
  • Ability to show independent thinking, analysis and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with scheduling and managing large complex workloads
  • Proven success in all of the following:
    • Strong communication and negotiation skills
    • Developing strong relationships via the phone, text and electronic methods
    • Detail oriented and able to multi-task
    • Team player, able to collaborate with and support others
    • Meeting stringent deadlines in a fast-paced team environment, handling conflict with poise and working well under pressure
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; or High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree).
  • 1-4+ years' experience in scheduling, ideally within a high volume environment.
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • EMR experience highly preferred; such as Cerner or Epic.
  • Recruiting experience is a plus
