Job Description:
THE OPPORTUNITY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Scope of Responsibilities
A Scholastic Education Inside Sales Representative (ISR) will collaborate with Field Account Executives in an assigned territory to increase sales revenue and expand customer relationships. The ISR maintains primary responsibility for meeting their assigned territory quota while also partnering with AEs to ensure coverage to drive overall territory growth.

Specific Responsibilities
1. Build relationships within white space schools and or districts to grow Scholastic's blended solutions. Target new business through lead follow-up and outbound call efforts to white space accounts.
2. Expand relationships within existing customer accounts to layer blended solutions for multiple-year sales opportunities.
3. Maintain a robust pipeline to support assigned quota and achieve individual product targets. Development of quotes, proposals, and multi-year improvement plans.
4. Building a deep product knowledge of products within the assigned portfolio.
5. Approach each discussion with a focus on needs-based questioning and active listening to customer responses.
6. Ability to connect customer needs to our product solutions and present the product's benefits and Scholastic's commitment to a partnership sale.
7. Utilize best practices when negotiating the sale, including value building with pricing, building understanding around terms, positioning of professional learning, and next steps in the sales process.
8. Identify and collaborate with colleagues on how to best meet customer challenges. Bring additional partners into customer discussions to strengthen our message, reduce the sales cycle, and expand our footprint as a thought partner.
9. Utilize phone, mail, email, TEAMS, and Google Meets as the primary communication with customers.
10. Effectively use the CRM system (Salesforce) to document and drive sales activities.
11. Stay updated on local, state, and national market trends, funding sources, district initiatives, learning frameworks, ordering policies, and pedagogy for effective teaching practices

The Inside Account Executive may be required to travel to assigned conferences and corporate-sponsored training and sales meetings.
Qualifications

A background in k-12 sales or education is preferred but is not mandatory.
Experience in Education and/or Inside Sales

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Computer and Digital Presentation skills- Excel, Google Suite, Teams, Salesforce, Outlook.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
