Job Overview: The Director of School Age Programming plays a key role within the JCC's Wasserman Center for Family Life. The primary goal of the position is to design, plan, staff and oversee the JCC's after-school programs for children ages 4-10 and their families. The Director of School Age programming will work closely with the greater Family Life Department, as well as the Membership, Registration, and Operations teams. This position reports to the Deputy Director of Children + Families.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Hire, lead and supervise full and part time staff members
  • Day to day administration of school age programming
  • Coordinate with the various JCC departments that interface with school age programs and the larger JCC program team
  • Supervise and collaborate with the Clubhouse + Pick Up Coordinator
  • Collaborate with the marketing department
  • Maintain ongoing vendor relationships for after school classes
  • Strengthen parent communications and build relationships with families
  • Direct program planning and curriculum development
  • Together with the Director of the Center for Family Life, create a full calendar of events, programs and classes
  • In consultation with the Deputy Director of Children + Families, prepare, track and maintain an annual budget
  • Actively participate in the Family Life Department and overall JCC staff team
  • Plan and oversee signature JCC specialty programs such as Kids Nights Out and Vacation Camps
  • Remain up-to-date on after school trends and the field of supplementary Jewish education

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to be engaging, thoughtful, creative and flexible when supporting or leading programming
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment

Education and Experience Required:

  • College degree required
  • Master's degree or working toward a degree in education or other related field preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years experience working with children in an after school program, camp or other informal education setting
  • Experience supervising staff

Salary / Hours: Full-time, four- five weekdays and/or a weekend day with flexibility to staff evening programs; $65,000-$70,000, commensurate with experience.
