Bus Drivers
Frederick County Public Schools has openings for Bus Drivers. Join the team! This position allows the flexibility to work 4.5 hours per day, and drivers are permitted to bring no more than two (2) of their own non-school age children or grandchildren to work. We offer paid training. Upon receiving a contract, drivers receive full benefits, overtime opportunities and the ability to earn an attendance bonus.
Requirements:
- Minimum age requirement of 21 years
- Hold a valid driver's license for a minimum of 2 years. Driving record must be within 0-5 Safe Driving Points (Virginia). West Virginia license holders must supply FCPS with a driving record from the WV DMV that has a seal on it
- Pass physical exam, drug screen and background checks
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Applicants must be able to obtain a CDL Permit, or possess a Class B CDL with the following endorsements: 1) Air brakes - vehicle equipped with air brakes; 2) School Bus (S), 3) Passenger Bus (P)
- Successful completion of division bus driver training
- Department of Education school bus physical
- 3 Work References
- 2 Moral Character References
A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
This position requires participation in a Department of Transportation random drug screening program under guidelines for drivers holding a Commercial Drivers' License.
Pay Rate:
- Bus Driver in Training - $12.00/hour
- Substitute Bus Driver - $74.70/day
- Contracted Bus Driver - $74.70-$142.11/day based on experience. An attendance bonus is also available.
Start Date: Selected applicants will be notified of the scheduled dates for the next Bus Driver Training class.
