We are seeking a fulltime Security Guard. We are looking for a detail oriented, safety and security minded candidate to join our team. Plant Security

• Monitor all traffic in and out of the plant, both on foot and by vehicle
• Ensure each person entering the Guardhouse has a positive experience
• Theft prevention including searching personal effects, vehicles and equipment
• Closely monitor all CCTV equipment for all locations
• Make regular rounds throughout the facility checking for any hazards or intruders
• Operate and monitor the central communication system

Emergency Response

• Respond to all emergency notifications. Take action as needed.
• Become familiar with and monitor the fire systems
• Monitor police scanner for severe weather or nefarious activities near the facility
• If necessary, contact EMS or Police and direct/escort them to the proper locations
• Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies or security investigations; sets up barriers and signage and provides direction or information to others
• Provide basic first aid as needed

Inspections & Documentation

• Perform monthly inspections on all facility fire extinguishers
• Perform weekly inspections on all facility safety showers & eye wash stations
• Perform weekly inspection on all facility first aid kits & AEDs
• Perform periodic inspections of all perimeter fencing & gates
• Perform daily truck & trailer inventory
• Perform periodic safety inspections of contractors
• Inspect areas of Hot Work upon completion of the work
• Inspect all incoming and outgoing trucks for proper seals and paperwork
• Assist with maintaining proper maintenance of company vehicles
• File incidents reports when necessary
• Create, maintain and file all governmental paperwork

Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Must have and maintain valid driver’s license
• Previous security experience a plus
• Strong knowledge of security operations and procedures
• Basic First Aid training including CPR & AED preferred
• Competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Office, Excel, Word, etc.)
• Union environment experience helpful
• Knowledge of OSHA, ISO, & BRC standards preferred
• Become familiar with TTB, DOT & BATF regulations regarding MGPI products
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees, contractors and visitors
• Understanding of a variety of security and safety devices and controls
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be willing to work any shift, weekends, holidays and overtime
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Requires strong multi-tasking skills
• Requires physical mobility: walking, climbing, stairs, kneeling, stooping and sitting
• Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs and walk 2-3 miles per day
• Physical dexterity: Use of phone, fax and computer
• Stationary working at a computer terminal or keyboard up to 6 hours per day
• Ability to endure possible exposure to high heat and cold
