Security Officer Job at Franciscan Children's Hospital
- Patrols Hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, and vandalism.
- Secures, locks, and protects Hospital buildings and grounds. Assists with inquires made by patients, visitors, or personnel.
- Responds quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Ensures only authorized personnel are admitted onto Hospital property. Assists with inquires made by patients, visitors, or personnel.
- Maintains current information in lost and found logs.
- Serves as a member of the BRT team and responds to codes appropriately.
- Reports all safety and fire hazards, investigates incidents of unusual circumstances and reports all incidents to supervisor.
- Supports all fire/life safety/emergency management drills and education initiatives
- Documents incident reports in an accurate and timely manner. Follows appropriate investigative procedure.
- Must be able to respond quickly to all areas of the hospital.
- Successfully completes hospital and department specific orientation and ongoing mandatory education requirements.
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary to the operation of the department.
- Manage access control at various entrances by ensuring all staff, patients, visitors and vendors are authorized to gain entry for business / service purposes
- Should an emergency situation arise (weather related or other emergency related events), senior management may require a need to have security staff remain at the Hospital in order to assure that the well-being of our patients is uncompromised and Hospital operations are interrupted. While these situations are unusual and at times predictable, our security staff should be prepared to remain on site.
Job Requirements:

- Ability to accept new assignments as delegated by the supervisor.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members.
- Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds, or assists in these activities.
- Practices good time management and follows set deadline
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.10 per hour
