Program Statement: Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland is seeking a motivated, mission-driven and knowledgeable social worker to join Migration and Refugee Services. Migration and Refugee Services resettles approximately 450 refugees annually from countries including Bhutan, Burma, Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Eritrea, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Pakistan, and Ukraine. We respect the dignity of each person and provide a supportive environment where each individual and culture is celebrated. Building upon the courage and strength of these newcomers, we seek to empower them to achieve self-sufficiency and independence.
What you will do:
- Responsible for job placement; matching clients with employers and retention services.
- Complete initial employability assessments and individual employment plans on all participants and update as required with an emphasis on early employment and self-sufficiency as a means to independence in the US.
- Assess any potential barriers to employment and perform outreach to other potential participants in the household.
