POSITION SUMMARY
Senior Accountant responsibilities include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks. Duties include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger, preparing month-end close entries and daily cash management. A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen and maintain internal controls.
• Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems in MS Dynamic AX environment.
• Prepare documentation for internal and external auditors.
• Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, or maintain solutions to business and financial problems.
• Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger accounts.
• Assist with the production of internal reporting.
• Analyze business operations and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with GAAP principles.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting – Master’s Degree in Accounting a plus
Experience: 3-5 plus years of experience in a high transaction Accounting environment
Transportation, logistics or trucking experience preferred but not required.
Computer Skills: Advanced MS Excel skills including V-lookups and pivot tables.
Certifications &
Licenses: CPA designation a plus but not required
Other Requirements: In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
