Role Summary:

This person will report directly to the Accounting Manager and perform the NOVONIX Senior Accountant function in the USA. As our Senior Accountant you will work with the operations team to maintain the listing of fixed assets, update standard costing, record general ledger transactions, and perform month end reconciliations. This position offers a remote working environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform and/or assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and closing activities including:
  • Reconciliations of fixed assets, inventory, bank, and credit card accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries as appropriate to ensure general ledger is in conformance with GAAP.
  • Assist with annual audits, creating financial reports/support as necessary, including external reporting requirements and compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Setting Standard costs of manufactured goods
  • Establishing costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc. (cost accounting)
  • Recommend changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit.
  • Collaborate with operations team to update and ensure Fixed Assets are being properly recorded.
  • Collaborate closely with Accounting Manager to maintain outstanding financial health for NOVONIX
  • Work on ad-hoc projects as assigned

You are:

  • A graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • An experienced accounting professional with 5+ years of experience in a General Accounting position
  • Familiar with working in a manufacturing environment
  • Well-versed on standard costing and cost accounting
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Analytically driven to interpret and communicate financial data and information
  • A highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative
  • Willing to go the extra mile to get the job done and satisfy customers/stakeholders
  • Passionate about creating a great company culture
  • A critical thinker able to manage complex information
  • Well organized and invested in the details
  • Resourceful when it comes to solving problems
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and changing environments

  • Oracle or large ERP experience (understanding process flow)
  • Experience working for a public company
  • Implementation experience
  • A CPA or other accounting/finance certification
  • SQL Knowledge
