Detailed Job Description
  • Participate in all Procure to Pay initiatives by developing procurement workflows and process mapping. Develop, test, evaluate and implement new P2P related processes and systems. Work in close collaboration with service providers, IT Services, Accounts Payable, Procurement Team members, and RIT end-users.
  • Develop training materials and programs focused on the P2P systems and processes. Lead roll-out of training material and providing ongoing training end-users.
  • In collaboration with the Strategic Sourcing Managers, manage RIT's Vendor Portals and other e-Marketplace supplier enablement processes. Improve functionality to end users and administrative control by PSO. Conduct testing, campus communication, and any training and/or follow up as it relates to the enablement or enhancement.
  • Advance the adoption and utilization of eProcurement technologies/tools which expose the campus community to new procure-to-pay systems or processes.
  • Assist as an integration point between Oracle and 3rd-Party systems. Act as PSO Voice of the Customer to ITS and Controller's Office leadership on related topics. Troubleshoot any system issues and end-user concerns. Stay current and maintain a working knowledge of the Institute's P2P systems.
  • In collaboration with the Procurement staff, create reports and functional dashboards that will monitor and measure the efficiency of the P2P systems and processes and drives actionable information. Assist in reporting the procurement staff as it relates to suppliers, commodities, pricing files, or other necessary data points needed.
  • Identify areas in need of improvement from a business process perspective. Self-initiate business cases to influence calls to action from key decision-makers. Track & measure implemented changes to determine if desired outcomes are being achieved. Bring issues or system enhancements as appropriate to the Director of Procurement.
  • Assist in developing and enhancing new and existing benchmarking and spend analytic tools and opportunities. Develop methods, presentation reports, and questionnaires to support benchmarking and sourcing initiatives.
  • In collaboration with Procurement Staff develop and distribute surveys to collect feedback on services provided by the department, suppliers and events sponsored by the department.
  • Actively review, enhance, update and maintain the Procurement Services website, with a key focus on enhancing end-user experience
  • Continue to research and evaluate emerging marketplace technologies which will enhance and/or improve organizational efficiencies and effectiveness. Assist the Director with selection of new technology supplier(s) and the implementation throughout RIT.
  • Sourcing Lead for RIT's Managed Print Services (MPS) and other categories as assigned. Conduct Request for Proposals (RFP's), align stakeholders on award recommendations, negotiate commercial terms, and execute contracts on behalf of RIT.

Department/College Description

Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Business Process Design, IT, or related field
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible business experience
Skills:
  • Experience in developing information systems, eProcurement, procurement operations and/or P2P systems.
  • Experience with major ERP system
  • Requires proficiency with personal computers and use of several software applications (Integrated ERP system, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Internet).
  • Must exhibit excellent analytical skills, think globally and creatively, and be flexible.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others in large or complex projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Understanding the optimum medium for the message & audience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse community in an academic environment.
  • Ability to translate strategic thinking into tactical actions.
